confusion is nothing new

I am reading conflicting information.
Is tofu and miso gluten free or not?
From what I gather miso and tofu are both acceptable because the soy bean has been fermented.

Anyone able to enlighten me?

Note* I need to look for chickpea miso

Possibly soy is fine, but it's when the ingredient in question is made in combination with a wheat product?
Still don't know...
